The next reunion will be on Saturday May 22, 2010 @ 1:45 PM, and will be held at the Prime Sirloin in downtown Mt. Airy. Bring family picture albums and stories! The first Prime Sirloin Family Steakhouse restaurant opened in 1986 in Charlotte, NC. The owners wanted to offer a nice, comfortable atmosphere where local folks just like them could get a good steak at an affordable price. Since then, not much has changed except there are more locations to serve our customers and an expanded menu offering unsurpassed quality and selection. My mom was Edith Dowell Joyce, oldest of the Dowell girls. I have taken on the task of keeping the family reunions going for the family and decendents. The next reunion will be on Saturday May 22, 2010, and will be held at the Prime Sirloin in downtown Mt. Airy. This is a rare photo of the Dowell family at their runion in 1955. It includes all 15 children and Mr. and Mrs. Dowell. The entire 15 children were born and raised in Mt. Airy, North Carolina.
